German Shepherd Dog / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (short coat) Dog

Penny the Dog needs a home

Penny is Polly's sister. They were picked up as strays on a rez in SD. More than likely had been strays since they were born. Penny's confidence grows daily and she is learning to trust and how to walk on a leash. Has had no accidents in the house and learned how to use the dog door on her own. Rez pups are very smart and resourceful! She has been well behaved with the other smaller dogs but has no interest yet in playing. Loves to cuddle now. She is a somewhat insecure girl so needs someone to continue to build her confidence rather than just coddle her and not allow her to grow. Penny has had her first round of vaccines and has been dewormed and micro chipped. Had a vet exam and handled it all really well! Greeted everyone at the clinic with a wagging tail even though she was nervous. She had a hot spot that was driving her crazy so she is on antibiotics for that and it's healing up already. We also found that she has a previous fracture on her rear leg and a slight limp, so we will be doing xrays soon to make sure it is healing ok. Exercise needs to be limited until it is fully healed up. She is a fairly mellow girl so far and is content just hanging out on the couch with us. Her age is estimated at around 4-5 months.
